The Box Brand Design's Green Catch is not just a packaging solution, but a statement of environmental friendliness. The design's inspiration stems from the idea of a blossoming plant, aiming to deliver a fresh surprise to customers both inside and out. The key goal is to make caring for indoor plants super easy, and to do so with minimal packaging.
What sets Green Catch apart is its simplicity and the unique experience it offers. The packaging consists of just two layers - an outer box and an inner cardboard tray. As the outer box is lifted, the inner tray imitates the process of a plant growing, creating a delightful unboxing experience that mirrors nature's own processes.
The design's realization technology further emphasizes its eco-friendly ethos. The packaging is designed to protect the plants and their glass vessels during transport, particularly for online sales. The two parts of the package display beautiful plant patterns in watercolour design, adding an artistic touch to the practical design.
Green Catch's technical specifications are Width 164mm x Height 380mm x Depth 140mm. The design was conceived and executed in Guangzhou, China, between July and November 2015. The project was led by designer Taylor Shum and Creative Director Joey Lo.
The packaging for Green Catch has been recognized for its innovation and environmental consciousness, earning it the Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Green Catch's award-winning design is a testament to its unique blend of simplicity, surprise, and sustainability.
